full design & build service

groundworks & shell

At JCG, we recognise that clients may wish to engage

preferred architects or structural engineers, especially if

they have used them in the past with great results.

Once planning permission is approved or looks likely, we gladly accept all invitations to tender on projects of substantial size and typically return completed tenders to architects and clients within 10 working days.

We complete full and conditional tenders for clients and are happy to rework any revisions for whatever reason, be it structural elements, amendments to the planning application or just simply a change of aesthetics.

Throughout 2020 we have been inundated with enquiries from clients seeking extra living and working space, most notably due to working from home during Covid.

Many of these clients have opted for our full design and build service which encapsulates the entire process from your ideas and picture board through to the day we sign over your completed extension.

Using our in-house designers, architects and structural engineers, we will assist you in designing the property extension of your dreams. Once the design is in place, sit back, relax and watch your new space come to life.

For some clients, a more cost effective option can be hiring contractors to carry out the shell only, leaving the interior fit out to be completed by others at a later date.

JCG will carry out (at a minimum for appropriate building control sign-off) all groundworks, drainage, structural elements, roofwork and glazing to ensure the new structure is water tight and ready for internal fit-out.

Obviously the option remains thereafter to engage us for first and second fix plumbing, electrics, plastering and other elements at your request. The choice is yours and all work comes with our standard lifetime guarantee.

Garage Conversion

Loft Conversion

If you're looking to add a bedroom, playroom or a new home office, a loft conversion is frequently the quickest, cheapest and easiest solution. What's more, the addition of a working space cum spare bedroom will usually provide a superior return on investment.

Choose from a simple skylight conversion thus retaining the pitches of the roof for a simple office or spare room, or pehaps a full width dormer conversion to accomodate

a new master bedroom with en-suite and balcony.

Whatever you choose, our dedicated loft conversion designer and structural engineer can discuss the options with you and give you realistic expectations of what you'll be able to achieve with the space available. If you are yet to draw up plans, leave it all to us, including submisison of drawings to building control under permitted development.

 loft conversions

garage conversions

A well executed garage conversion can make the perfect office, spare bedroom, granny annexe with en-suite or, more commonly these days, an internal extension of the kitchen and living area. Either way, they are very cost effective and quick to complete.

Most garage conversions can be carried out swiftly by upgrading the thermal and fire retardancy components of the existing structure, saving thousands on groundworks and building of a typical extension, leaving more in the budget for interior home comforts.

To find out more about converting your garage to a habitable space, along with any restrictions you may face under local authority oversight of permitted development rules, please get in touch and we will be happy to give our advice and a quick estimate.

We look forward to hearing from you.

structural steel work

Structural Steel Work

When it comes to structural steel or glass, look no further than JCG.

Over the last 15 years we have made steel and structural minimalism a strong focus of the company.

This focus has kept us on pace with today's building technology and designs such as cantilevered beams for open cornered extensions and structural glass beams and walls to bring the outside in while still meeting the thermal property requirements of national building regulations. Needless to say, a well designed steel frame and glass extension or outbuilding can look phenomenal on the right property.

So, if your next project involves extensive steelwork, including lower ground floor extension retaining walls, reinforced concrete, or simply a steel framed ground floor extension or new build, get in touch at your earliest convenience.
